TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By undertaking a course/block of sessions at the Pot Factory you agree to the following:
1. Attending the sessions you have paid to undertake and complete the sessions.
2. If you should miss a session you can catch up the following week, although this would be done on your own time and is always negotiated with the tutor beforehand regarding availability of dropping in on sessions outside your regular one. If the class you intend to join to catch up on is too full you won’t be able to join that class due to over crowding, the tutor will inform you beforehand of this. You can only catch up on sessions within your block of sessions you are currently on, no one will not be able to catch these missed sessions up onto another block you undertake. Rescheduled classes that are not attended are then forfeited without exception.
3. Courses are blocked sessions and so if you have purchased an 11/21 week block this will not be extended further than the 11/21 weeks unless there are extenuating circumstances i.e. illness/injury. If so the onus is on the attendee to contact The Pot Factory Ceramics Studio Ltd if this is the case.
4. Absenteeism of more than 50% of your block without extenuating circumstances will result in the cancellation of your session’s forfeit of refund and The Pot Factory Ceramics Studio Ltd right to offer your placement to others.
5. Week to week session users (pay as you go) will forfeit their work, if they do not attend within two weeks of their last session. Extenuating circumstances will be accepted, but the onus is on the attendee to contact The Pot Factory Ceramics Studio Ltd if this is the case.“Pay as you go” session users will be required to pay either before the session or at the start of the session, there is no exception.
6. This also includes all Gift Vouchers (gift vouchers have to be used within six months from the time of purchase) as they still fall under purchased block sessions. Persons who are undertaking a block of sessions (Gift Vouchers) are under the same rules as others on classes.
7. From September 2023 there will be restrictions on the size of objects you can make. Any work that exceeds 12inchs/30cms in height or diameter (made wet) will then incur further costs through storage and firing. The cost per inch/2.54cm after the above will be £10 per bisque and per glaze firing. All height/diameter will always be rounded up.
Example: If you make an object measuring 30.5cms height and 22cms diameter, there will be an added cost of £20 for firing this item. As it exceeds 30cms height and will require two firings. This additional cost will be paid before any firings.
8.Any work that cracks, splits or breaks while on the drying shelves will not be fired and will be either recycled (if just normal clay) or thrown into the rubbish (depending if it has decorating slip on it).
9.First sessions are £25 per person, this is payable before the session or on the session, no exception. After this, if the attendee(s) wish to join a block of classes they can, but need to inform the tutor as soon as possible. Leaving it past 24hours after your session will mean there is no guarantee of a place and it can and will be offered to others. If you chose not to continue onto classes then any work made on your first session will be recycled as this first session does not cover the glazing or firing of any work. This £25 for your first session will then be deducted from your full amount if you choose to continue on to the 11/21 week classes.
